EC2S este o față de tobă echipată cu un inel (Edge Control) poziționat sub două straturi (fiecare cu o grosime de 7 mil). Prin controlarea vibrațiilor de la margini (și nu prin eliminarea acestora), inelul izolează și atenuează frecvențele înalte, amplifică frecvențele joase și atacul, oferind totodată o gamă mai largă de acordaj.
Versiunea frosted oferă mai multă căldură, profunzime și un atac mai definit.
